They have a public API which apps (and bots and any sort of integration with Reddit) use, but they specifically haven't added stuff like the direct messages support to the API. All the new features they've added to Reddit in the last few year or so are restricted to only new and the official client.ĥa.the Reddit owned mobile client is by far the best way for them to gather data on you (phone ids, cell carrier data, position, Google/Apple account information, etc, etc) they want as many people using their mobile client as possible. Trying to jam Reddit streams down your throatĤa. I own my notifications, not some goddamn social media site. Randomly "recommends" some dumb thread I'm not interested in and didn't take a part of by putting it as a notification that makes noise/vibration.
